As always we had a very enjoyable evening with good food and wine and great company! The theme this month was food from Australia and New Zealand at Ted & Jolene's home. We began with an appetizer, Wasabi Salmon Fingers with a kiwi dipping sauce.
As food from down under seems to be all about meat, our main meal had lots of meat, a green salad with mandarin and chicken, a beef stir fry made with marmite that is the British equivalent of vegemite, popular in Australia, and wonderful marinated lamb chops. The meal was topped off with individual pavlova dipped in Lindt chocolate and with a mound of fruit, papaya, kiwi and mango and of course, whipped cream. 
Conversation was very animated and our guest for the evening Helen who came with Debbie seems to want to come back!
Junior Ides played Wii games upstairs and enjoyed Jolene's home made bread. We also all participated in an experiment for Ben's math class, sampling 5 different cookies and rating them.
Next month's Ides Club will be held at Dan and Colette's home with a German theme. Looking forward to it!
